71st Bridge Hit – Feb 4, 2026

The Long Grove’s famous (or infamous) Bridge has claimed yet another victim.

Despite clear height warnings, the bridge continues its undefeated streak.

Bridge Hit by Trailer – October 9, 2025

🚧 It happened again! The historic Robert Parker Coffin Bridge in Long Grove took another hit — reportedly the 69th time it’s been struck.

Around 10:50 p.m. Thursday, a white pickup towing a large trailer clipped the bridge canopy. Part of it was even caught on camera. The driver stopped and got out afterward to check the damage.

You’d think by now drivers would know… that bridge always wins.

Toys for Tots Hits the Bridge! Dec 19, 2024

In a shocking turn of events (well, not really, because it’s Long Grove), a box truck with “Toys for Tots” emblazoned on the side made history… again. This time, it managed to take a tumble onto the historic Robert Parker Coffin Bridge, marking its 62nd trip into the local hall of fame (or infamy, depending on how you look at it).

Long Grove residents, take note: if you’re going to try to break your personal best for most times hit by the same old bridge, at least have a good insurance policy.
